Kufri is a small but popular hill station in Himachal Pradesh, located some 20 kilometres from the state’s capital, Shimla. This region, along with Shimla used to be a part of the Kingdom of Nepal until 1816 when the Sugauli Treaty was signed by the British.
Kufri is now a very popular tourist destination, especially in the winters when the meadows and potato plantations around get buried with snow and favour ski and snowboarding enthusiasts. Adventure sports in Kufri have boomed because of the various ski resorts that have propped up, enabling beginners and professionals alike to enjoy the winter games fully. Other adventure activities in Kufri including trekking, especially the Mahasu Peak trek which is the highest peak in Kufri region. Apart from the usual Kufri adventure activities like skiing, snowboarding and trekking, another fun and exciting sport called tobogganing is also picking up pace amongst the young and old alike!
